The Indiana Fever and Toronto Tempo conclude their Commissioner’s Cup action a night earlier than most of the rest of the league, but with both eliminated from advancing, no Cup concerns should factor into this game.

My Tempo vs. Fever props and WNBA picks enjoy how fast-paced this matchup should be on Tuesday, June 16.

Caitlin Clark Over 8.5 assists (-105)

This is a lofty prop, even for Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, but it is a lofty prop today because these two teams play at a — this pun is forced and intentional; no apology is forthcoming — feverish tempo.

On the season, the Fever rank No. 1 in the WNBA in pace while the Toronto Tempo are No. 3. In the five games of June, those rankings invert.

There is a reason this game’s total is as high as 179.5. A player with the ball in her hands as often as Clark should rack up assists at this pace.

A quirk of the WNBA schedule thus far: The Fever have faced only one of the other Top 5 in pace this season, which was just last week against the Sky. Clark tallied 10 assists in that matchup.

Marina Mabrey Under 2.5 threes (-105)

Do not blindly bet Overs on props simply because this should be a fast-paced, high-scoring game.

While the Fever defense is only decent — No. 5 in rating this season, which should be acknowledged as a massive improvement over a year ago — it emphasizes limiting opponents’ looks from deep, allowing only 19.8 attempts from beyond the arc per game despite playing at the fastest pace in the WNBA.

Marina Mabrey has taken 8.3 threes per game this season, hitting 35.3% of them to spur her average of 17.9 points. Indiana should snuff out those long-range looks tonight.

Aliyah Boston Over 8.5 rebounds (-135)

The Tempo rank No. 14 in rebounding rate this season, outpacing only Chicago. Imagine if the Sky had one of the best rebounders in the league, like Angel Reese.

Toronto fails on the glass on both ends of the court, ranking No. 13 in defensive and offensive rebounding rates. Enter Aliyah Boston as she grabs a greater share of available defensive rebounds than in any of her first three seasons.

Boston has already cleared this prop in four straight games. She might pass it in the first half of a game with a hefty pace against such a poor rebounding team.
