There may be only two games on the WNBA slate tonight, but there are still great options on the table for player props bettors.
I’m targeting three women who are taking on different roles with their new teams: Brittney Sykes as a scorer, Kayla Thornton as a long-range threat, and Natisha Hiedeman as a playmaker.
Read on to see my full analysis of each of these bets with my free WNBA picks for Friday, June 12.
Top WNBA player prop bets for today
| Player | Pick | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Over 20.5 points | <<+100>> | |
| Over 1.5 threes made | <<+108>> | |
| Over 4.5 assists | <<-104>> |
Brittney Sykes Over 20.5 points (+100)
Brittney Sykes has taken on the role of leading scorer for the Toronto Tempo with enthusiasm. While she had never scored more than 15.9 ppg for a season in her career, she’s averaging 21.6 ppg on the highest shooting volume of her career.
The Tempo give Sykes 16.2 shots per game, and she’s shot the ball well enough (40.7% from the floor) to lead their offense. It doesn’t hurt that she gets to the line regularly and converts at an extremely high rate from there, shooting 7.9 free throws per game at a 91.6% clip this season.
The Washington Mystics allow 86.9 ppg with a 107.0 defensive rating, which ranks 10th in the WNBA this season. Sykes will get the volume needed to continue scoring at hit her Over against a mediocre defensive squad.

Kayla Thornton Over 1.5 threes made (+108)
Kayla Thornton wasn’t always known for shooting from deep, but she started firing away with regularly when she joined the Golden State Valkyries last season. Since then, she’s hit 1.8 threes per game, the highest rate of her career by a wide margin.
To hit tonight’s total, Thornton merely needs to make two shots from beyond the arc. She’s done that in four of her last five games, hitting as many as five in a single game during that span. Yet we’re still getting plus money tonight on this bet.
The Seattle Storm have been good at contesting the three-point line, but opponents are still taking 32.0% of their shots from deep against them this season. With Thornton only needing to find two opportunities to score from deep, I love this bet at even money or better.

Natisha Hiedeman Over 4.5 assists (-104)
Natisha Hiedeman has never been a primary playmaker for a team in her career, but that’s what the Seattle Storm are having her do in her starting role. Hiedeman is averaging a career-high 4.1 assists per game, while also putting up new personal bests in scoring (13.9 ppg) and rebounding (2.4 per game).
But it’s that playmaking role that Hiedeman has been excelling at in recent games. The former Marquette standout has picked up five assists in each of Seattle’s last three contests, and has hit the 5+ assists mark in seven of her last 10 games overall.
Golden State has allowed opposing teams to move the ball around the court, with opponents picking up an average of 20.0 assists per game, the fifth-most in the WNBA. That should allow Hiedeman to feed her teammates and continue her streak, hitting the Over on her assists total tonight.
