Wyndham Clark increased his lead to six strokes Saturday and is the betting favorite in the 2026 U.S. Open odds going into the final round.
With Clark in the driver’s seat, my three Round 4 U.S. Open picks picks are headlined by Justin Thomas and Ben Griffin climbing the leaderboard at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Sunday, June 21.
Best U.S. Open Round 4 predictions
| Golfer | Pick | |
|---|---|---|
| Justin Thomas | To finish Top 20: Yes | 42¢ <<+131>> |
| Ben Griffin | To finish Top 20: Yes | 41¢ <<+134>> |
| Tom Kim | To finish Top 10: No | 41¢ <<+134>> |
Justin Thomas to finish Top 20: Yes (+131/42¢)
Despite firing a Saturday 75 to fall to T29 entering Round 4, I’m still confident in Justin Thomas, and especially after he answered his triple-bogey on the 12th hole with five straight pars to close out Round 3.
Thomas carded four consecutive Top 20s with true strokes gained across the board ahead of the U.S. Open, and his short game has been solid at Shinnecock with ranks of 21st in true strokes gained putting (+0.95) and 30th in around-the-green play (+0.34).
Ben Griffin to finish Top 20: Yes (+134/41¢)
There is a clear path for Ben Griffin to climb the leaderboard Sunday. He just needs to continue improving on the greens, which he’s done in consecutive rounds. So, while he ranks 66th in the field in true strokes gained putting (-0.66), the rest of his game has been tidy.
In particular, Griffin is eighth in true strokes gained tee-to-green (+2.38).
He also entered the U.S. Open ranked 16th in this field in true strokes gained putting, so I’m anticipating cleaner work on the greens in Round 4 paving the way to a top-20 finish.
Tom Kim to finish Top 10: No (+134/41¢)
I’m expecting the moment to be too big for Tom Kim at Shinnecock on Sunday.
He missed 11 of 18 greens in Round 3 and made six bogeys, and while he continued to roll it well with +1.16 true strokes gained putting Saturday, I’m confident the putter will cool.
Remember, Kim entered the event ranked 94th in the field in true strokes gained putting (-0.26) in 2026.
