U.S. President Donald Trump and other administration officials were ushered out of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday night as guests were forced to duck due to an unspecified threat.
The program will resume momentarily, WHCA President Weijia Jiang later told the attendees.
It remains unclear exactly what the threat at the event was. It was hosted at a hotel in Washington.
The president was joined at the event by a host of White House officials, including Vice President JD Vance, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the status of the event.
A POLITICO reporter at the dinner said they heard several loud bangs while seated at their tables. They then saw Secret Service agents rush the stage to secure the president and were told to duck under their tables.
