FanDuel has expanded its RG Ambassador program through a new partnership with respected sports broadcaster Erin Andrews.
Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews is FanDuel’s newest RG Ambassador.
FanDuel announced that Andrews has joined its roster of Responsible Gaming Ambassadors that also includes Keith Whyte, Craig Carton, Randy Livingstone, and Anita Odine Smith. Andrews’ addition, FanDuel said, extends the company’s “commitment to promoting safe and responsible play among its customers.”
The new partnership, FanDuel explained, “brings a new dynamic” to its Responsible Gaming Ambassador program, allowing the company to connect with a wider sports audience.
With Andrews’ presence in the sports world and connection with fans, she can help amplify FanDuel’s message, encouraging customers to “set limits and play with a plan,” according to the release.
Discussing her new role in the announcement, Andrews noted the importance of betting responsibly.
I’ve seen first-hand how sports betting can become such a huge part of the fan experience, and FanDuel provides the tools and awareness to enjoy sports betting safely from the start. It’s so important for people to bet responsible when gaming to ensure that this space remains safe for others.”
Andrews’ ‘Authenticity’ Makes her an ‘Ideal’ RG Partner
Andrews will create RG-focused content and take part in related campaigns. She will also “support broader education and awareness efforts.” On the content side, output will include social media posts, short-form RG-focused videos, “seasonal moments,” and fan engagement programs.
Cory Fox, FanDuel’s senior vice president of public policy and sustainability, said Andrews’ “authenticity” makes her an ideal RG partner.
Erin is someone fans know, trust, and listen to. By pairing her voice with our lived experience ambassadors, we’re expanding our ability to reach customers with messages that resonate. Her authenticity and deep understanding of the sports landscape make her an ideal partner to reinforce the importance of Play With A Plan.”
Through FanDuel’s Play With A Plan initiative, the company provides customers with tools, resources, and education to help players keep their play fun. Andrews’ role, FanDuel said, furthers these efforts.
In addition to its RG tools and Ambassador program, which launched in 2021, FanDuel backs several responsible gaming initiative that include:
- Responsible Gaming Essentials: FanDuel and Front Office Sports offer a “first-of-its-kind” course covering the fundamentals of responsible play and the evolving sportsbook industry.
- The Comeback with Craig Carton: a video series about problem gambling recovery.
- Trusted Voices, Conversations About Betting: a program to equip adults, including parents and coaches, with tools and resources to talk to young people about gambling.
- Operation Hope: the non-profit recently expanded its free financial counseling program to residents of Vermont, Massachusetts, and Kentucky.
FanDuel Kicks Off Partnership with ‘In Conversation with Erin Andrews’ Video
Coinciding with the launch, FanDuel Communications released a video interview with Andrews explaining why she chose to become a FanDuel RG partner.
In the video, Andrews recounts firsthand knowledge of how sports betting can become embedded in the fan experience.
Her number one tip for FanDuel customers? Play with a plan. That means using deposit, time, and wager limit tools and regularly checking your My Spend statement.
Gaming should always be for entertainment, and I want to continue promoting that message in the years to come.”
