Two first-place ball clubs square off for a weekend series when the powerhouse Los Angeles Dodgers travel to Rate Field to face the upstart Chicago White Sox.

Several factors point toward the home team being undervalued, so I’m hunting the plus money with my Dodgers vs. White Sox predictions and MLB picks for Friday, June 12.

Who will win Dodgers vs White Sox today: White Sox (+131)

Rate Field has been a terror for opposing teams. The Chicago White Sox are 22-11 at home, including seven consecutive wins.

They’re 6-1 across Anthony Kay’s seven home starts, and he’s allowed more than two earned runs just once. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ wRC+ is 47 points worse against left-handed pitching in the last 20 days

L.A’s relief options have been an unmitigated disaster (7.36 ERA in the last 14 days), whereas Chicago’s fully rested bullpen is in fine form (2.59).

These factors aren’t reflected accurately in the line. Play the White Sox to +120.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Roki Sasaki’s fastball gets battered around (.313 xBA and .563 xSLG). The White Sox destroy fastballs, ranking third in runs above average per 100 pitches (0.51).

Dodgers vs White Sox Over/Under pick: Over 8.5 (-125)

Both starting pitchers have been effective, but are facing a step up in competition.

Roki Sasaki has benefited from two starts against the Angels and one against the slumping Phillies, and his 4.88 road ERA is concerning.

He allows too much loud contact (14th percentile hard-hit rate, 18th percentile barrel rate), and the White Sox have a .217 ISO against RHP in the last 14 days.

The White Sox are an Over team (38-26 O/U), and the hitter-friendly weather (temps in the high 70s, winds of 8 to 12 mph blowing out) supports that trend continuing.
