The UConn Huskies and Michigan Wolverines collide Monday night for the 2026 national title and this one has all the makings of a classic.
Michigan rolls in looking like an all-time powerhouse, while UConn is chasing dynasty status with a third championship in four years.
But when the lights are brightest, I’m backing the Wolverines to continue their torrid run and cut down the nets in emphatic fashion in my UConn vs. Michigan predictions.

- UPDATE: Added prediction for who will win.
UConn vs Michigan prediction
Who will win UConn vs Michigan?
Michigan: The only teams that beat the Michigan Wolverines this season slowed the tempo and bombed threes. That’s the MO for the UConn Huskies, so they certainly have a path to victory. Especially with Michigan’s best player, Yaxel Lendeborg, toughing out an ankle and knee injury from Saturday.
That said, the Wolverines have the highest-rated team in KenPom history and have been dominant all season. They have the more talented squad and have destroyed every foe they’ve faced in the tourney — including an Arizona team that many thought was championship caliber.
UConn vs Michigan best bet: Michigan -7 (-110)
UConn beat Illinois 71-62 in the Final Four but had razor-close wins in the previous two rounds. Meanwhile, Michigan won all five of its tournament games by more than 12 points, including a 91-73 blowout of Arizona in the Final Four.
The Wildcats were widely viewed as the second-best team in the country and the Wolverines destroying them, despite Lendeborg logging just 14 minutes, showed how dominant they are. That was Michigan’s seventh double-digit win against a top 15 KenPom team.
The Wolverines have been red-hot from deep, and even if they regress in that area, they still have the ball movement and interior attack to find cracks in UConn’s defense.
UConn’s guards struggle to knock down shots, and the Wolverines shut down Arizona’s elite backcourt. The Huskies also won’t score inside, with Michigan boasting the best rim defense in the country.
UConn vs Michigan same-game parlay
If you’re reluctant to lay the points, shift your bet to the Michigan moneyline in this SGP
Aday Mara dropped 26 points against Arizona’s elite defense, and he has scored 14+ points in eight of the last 11 games. Michigan will need the 7-foot-3 center on the floor as much as possible to battle Tarris Reed Jr., and he could carry more of the offensive load if Lendeborg is limited.
Meanwhile, guard Trey McKenney went 4-for-6 from deep against Arizona and has drained at least a pair of threes in eight of his last 12 games.
UConn’s best perimeter defender, Silas Demary Jr., will likely guard Cadeau, giving McKenney a more favorable matchup against Braylon Mullens or Solo Ball, who is dealing with a foot sprain.

Our Big Dance SGP: Mighty Michigan
Mara is also the best rim protector in the nation, and getting the O/U on his blocks at 1.5 is a bargain. Mara has blocked at least two shots in 31 of his last 35 games, and UConn is 229th in the country in opponent block rate.

UConn vs Michigan spread and Over/Under predictions
UConn vs Michigan spread prediction
UConn coach Dan Hurley has gone an incredible 19-3 ATS in the NCAA Tournament. That said, Michigan is simply on another level and has been blowing out opponents with all of its wins coming by more than 12 points.
The Wolverines are 12-2 SU and 9-5 ATS against ranked teams this season and will be able to pull away and cover this spread.
UConn vs Michigan Over/Under prediction
Both teams have elite defenses, but the total looks too low when you consider that Michigan ranks fourth in the country in adjusted offense and 22nd in adjusted tempo. Bart Torvik, KenPom, and Evan Miya are projecting between 147 and 148 points.
The Wolverines have scored 90+ points in every game during the NCAA Tournament. Even if they don’t come close to reaching that number, they’ll do enough to drag this game over the low total.
