The Colorado Buffaloes will at least save on flights to Las Vegas when they face the Oklahoma Sooners in the College Basketball Crown tournament tonight.

The Buffaloes bring a skeleton crew to Sin City after three of their four top scorers entered the transfer portal and will not compete in this postseason event.

Leading scorer Isaiah Johnson along with forwards Sebastian Rancik and Bangot Dak — both averaging double figures — are gone and take 51% of Colorado’s offensive firepower off the floor. That’s swung the Sooners from -5.5 to 9-point neutral site favorites for tonight’s game.

Our Oklahoma vs. Colorado predictions and college basketball picks don’t believe those losses are being factored in enough.

Oklahoma vs Colorado prediction

Who will win Oklahoma vs Colorado?

Oklahoma: Even before the Colorado Buffaloes’ standouts bailed, the Oklahoma Sooners were forecasted with a 5-point winning margin. Given the state of this Buffaloes rotation, OU will pull away down the stretch and advance in Vegas.

Oklahoma vs Colorado best bet: Oklahoma -10 (-110)

On top of the MIA offensive contributions, the loss of Sebastian Rancik and Bangot Dak instantly shrinks Colorado’s interior. The Buffaloes lose two shot changers in the paint and their top rebounders.

The Sooners aren’t the biggest team, but are feisty on the glass, hauling in 10 offensive rebounds and generating 14.2 second-chance points per game. Oklahoma already held an edge in outside shooting and can really be a rim-and-three team against the Buffaloes’ makeshift rotation.

The Sooners’ shooting could be a little rusty out of the gate, given they haven’t played since the SEC tournament, but OU finished among the better 3-point teams and knocks down almost 10 triples a game.

Perhaps the biggest edge is Oklahoma’s desire to do well at the Crown. Head coach Porter Moser is using the Sooners’ NCAA Tournament snub as motivation, fueling what has been one of the hottest teams in the country (8-3 SU, 9-2 ATS last 11 games).

Covers COVERS INTEL: Oklahoma’s furious finish saw the Sooners post an offensive rating of 126.9 in the final 10 games of the season — sixth highest in the country during that span. Oklahoma averaged more than 82 points per game in that stretch.

Oklahoma vs Colorado same-game parlay

These teams haven’t played a real game in weeks and now travel to Las Vegas for the Crown. I expect some rust in the opening 20 minutes. The Buffaloes are missing more than half of their production, leaving second overall scorer Barrington Hargress with the green light.

Our beyond the arc SGP: Bright lights, big shooters

The Sooners take the court in Sin City with a chip on their shoulders after getting snubbed by the Selection Committee. Nijel Pack picks apart a soft Colorado defense while Hargress tries to keep Colorado competitive from beyond the arc.
